About Us

Based in the Heart of England Toft Alpacas has been breeding prizewinning alpacas since 1997.

Owned by Rob & Shirley Bettinson this exceptional herd is located in the hamlet of Toft near the village of Dunchurch, in North East Warwickshire.

Toft Alpacas is located on the shores of the picturesque Draycote reservoir, one of the most popular fishing lakes in the UK.

This Central Midlands location lies on the axis of three counties Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, within shouting distance of the M45, M1 and M6.

Established in 1997 with the purchase of four pregnant females the Toft alpaca herd is now 150 strong and provides permanent employment for three people. Introductory and advanced courses are run throughout the summer. The Toft Alpaca Farm shop is open six days a week. The Toft Alpaca online shop never shuts. During the show season the alpacas and the show trailers are busy throughout the UK.

As it reaches a certain scale and maturity Toft Alpacas remains very much a family business relying heavily on the keen interest and enthusiasm of their four children, Kerry, Laura, Scott and Grant and their ruthlessly exploited grandmother turned herds woman, Myra. God Bless her woolly socks!

SHEAR BEAUTY: The Toft alpaca herd roams over 60 acres of rural Warwickshire blessed with the most stunning views of Draycote water.

The herd produces almost 500kgs of luxurious fibre in all colours which is then processed into exclusive alpaca products sold through The Toft Alpaca Shop

WALK and ENJOY: There are three public footpaths and bridleways running through the farm, all double fenced enabling the general public close access to admire the alpaca herd at all times.

VISIT ANYTIME: Located on the side of Draycote water not far from it's visitor centre where sailing, fishing, windsurfing, walking, birdwatching, cycling, jogging abounds. The beutifully laid out walks through the alpacas are just the tonic for a little peace and quiet.

Although not a visitor centre, with its public footpaths and bridleways the farm has a charming open parkland feel allowing dog walkers, cyclists children close but protected access to the alpacas which are rapidly becoming a major attraction in the area.

With the on farm alpaca shop open six days a week and some lovely picnic spots in and around the farm Toft Alpacas is well worth a trip even for the most casual visitor.

SHOPPING: With a busy farm shop, open every day except Mondays throughout the year, selling luxury alpaca products there's no shortage of visitors admiring the herd.

Having graduated from York University with a first class honours in English Lit in 2006 Kerry Bettinson, Rob and Shirleys eldest daughter, has embarked on a commercial adventure of her own.

Kerry has taken over the development of Toft Alpaca to process the Toft Alpaca fibre into saleable and profitable products.

She now runs the Toft Alpaca On Farm shop, online shop and the show trailer. Kerry works with Designers, knitters, spinners and weavers throughout the UK to develop high quality product from UK alpaca.
