We have bred Suri Alpacas at Toft for over 20 years but decided in 2019 as part of a farm reorganisation to sell our Toft Suri herd to concentrate on our huacaya herd.
We currently have a herd of over 120 huacaya alpacas in all colours and age ranges and hence a wide range of price ranges.

TOFT HUACAYA ALPACAS FOR SALE
There are two types of Alpaca. The Suri alpaca and the Huacaya.
The only really big difference between these two types of Alpaca is their fleece.
The fleece on the Suri alpaca is very straight and forms long twisted locks that hang down the flank of the Alpaca much like a Wensleydale Sheep. Suri fibre is renowned for the unique inherent lustre/sheen/shine which makes the fibre glow. More akin to the worsted processing of fine suits and ladies high fashion garments at its best Suri fibre is like silk.
The fleece on the Huacaya growns vertically out of the skin in bright crimped/wavy tight bundles which give the alpaca that Teddy Bear' appearance. Huacaya fibre is very fine and inherently soft it is more akin to the woollen processing to make luxury knitted garments. At its best Huacaya Fibre is Akin to a hard wearing cashmere.
Both Suri and Huacaya Fibre is inherently and uniquely soft, even at its coarsest.
The coarsest alpaca fibre is now being added to Wool carpet mix to add softness and luxury to the sheeps wool.
