What is Accoyo?

ACCOYO is the world famous Alpaca herd of Don Julio Barreda, Estancia Accoyo, Macusani Peru. 

"After more than four decades of breeding Alpacas. I can identify some modest achievements, The Accoyo herd is uniform in all respects. I have been able to breed well-defined Alpaca phenotypes with an absence of atypical animals. There are no Hauarizos, Suri Huacayas or Huacaya Suris in my herd."

Don Julio Barreda, through consistent  selective breeding, is renowned throughout the Alpaca heartlands of South America  for  producing an impressively dense fleeced, clear faced, compact, white alpaca with excellent phenotype, fine uniform fibre, and exceptionally high  yield.  

The Accoyo bloodline has had a major influence on the advancement of the Alpaca, worldwide  is a  dominant factor in the International show circuits having  maintained a winning presence in the Peruvian Show ring dating back to the 1940's.
